中國(guó)外語與教育研究中心

　　中國(guó)外語與教育研究中心所依托的北京外國(guó)語大學(xué)，是我國(guó)開辦歷史最長(zhǎng)、開設(shè)語種最多的外語大學(xué)，設(shè)有我國(guó)第一批外國(guó)語言文學(xué)博士點(diǎn)和第一個(gè)博士后流動(dòng)站，師資力量雄厚，學(xué)術(shù)成果豐富。2000年3月，北外以外國(guó)語言研究所為基礎(chǔ)，吸收英語系等院系的科研力量，組建了本中心。同年9月，中心被教育部正式批準(zhǔn)為“普通高等學(xué)校人文社會(huì)科學(xué)重點(diǎn)研究基地”。

　　中心以中國(guó)外語教育理論與實(shí)踐創(chuàng)新研究、漢外語言對(duì)比及外語學(xué)習(xí)者語言研究、大數(shù)據(jù)視野下的外語及外語學(xué)習(xí)研究、外語教育政策研究為基礎(chǔ)研究方向。中心的主要任務(wù)是：1)承擔(dān)重大科研項(xiàng)目，產(chǎn)出重要研究成果;2)培養(yǎng)高級(jí)研究人才，造就創(chuàng)新學(xué)術(shù)梯隊(duì);3)提供政策理論咨詢，推動(dòng)國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)術(shù)交流。

　　中心現(xiàn)有專職研究員13名，科研輔助人員6名。此外，中心設(shè)有外國(guó)語言學(xué)及應(yīng)用語言學(xué)、 語言政策與規(guī)劃學(xué)、外語教育學(xué)三個(gè)二級(jí)學(xué)科博士點(diǎn)、碩士點(diǎn)，是我國(guó)高級(jí)外語研究人才的重要培養(yǎng)基地。

　　中心已發(fā)展成以科研為主、人才培養(yǎng)為輔的科研教學(xué)型實(shí)體。成立至今，中心獲批課題超100項(xiàng)，發(fā)表論文、撰寫咨詢報(bào)告和出版專著超1000篇/部。

　　Introduction to the National Research Centre for Foreign Language Education

　　The National Research Centre for Foreign Language Education at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) was founded in 2000. The Centre stands as a leading research hub in the humanities and social sciences under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. Boasting a committed team of 12 full-time researchers, the Centre serves as the linchpin for BFSU’s 45th position in the QS World University Rankings by Subject: Linguistics for 2023.

　　The Centre concentrates its research on foreign language education, theoretical linguistics, corpus linguistics, and language policy and planning. Its pivotal roles include: 1) Heading major research initiatives and delivering impactful academic, social and community outcomes; 2) Nurturing top-tier research talent and fostering a groundbreaking academic ensemble; 3) Offering policy advice and bolstering both national and global academic dialogue.

　　Since its inception, the Centre has either completed or is currently conducting more than 100 research projects, of which over 30 are of national significance (including four Major Projects of Social Science Fund of China). The Centre has been recognised with numerous awards for exemplary accomplishments in humanities and social sciences, granted by the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipal Government. Members of its faculty have authored in excess of 1,000 research papers, policy dossiers, monographs and edited volumes. They have also curated over 100 national or international scholarly symposiums and welcome scores of domestic and overseas specialists annually.

　　The Centre provides both Ph.D. and Master’s courses in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Language Policy and Planning, Foreign Language Education Studies, standing as a critical pillar in nurturing China's elite foreign language scholars. It also routinely welcomes visiting academics, domestic exchange students, and international students. The Centre offers a rich tapestry of avant-garde courses and programmes. Numerous alumni have received distinguished doctoral/master’s dissertation commendations from the university, and a handful of doctoral candidates have secured national accolades for outstanding Ph.D. dissertations.

　　The Centre publishes three journals included in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI): Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Foreign Language Education in China, and Journal of Language Policy and Language Planning. Its faculty also helm journals such as the Chinese Journal of Applied Linguistics (De Gruyter), Corpus Linguistics, English Learning (Teachers' Edition), Journal of World Languages, and World Language Strategy Bulletin.
